Web Design?

Hi everyone.





I'm with my high school newspaper, and only now are we trying to get up our own website. I'm wondering if you guys know what are some great, yet cheap, Web Design programs, along with a great, yet still cheap, Web Hosting website. Thanks in advance! : )

Check MyWebbieHosting.com. I never had a problem with them since I signed up with them. Their cheapest plan is $3.95 a month, but I suggest you check their $4.95 plan since it already includes a Site Studio, a web design program where you will just customize the templates that they provide.





I also suggest this host since their plans already includes


rss feeder (check the marketing tools page) which I think is good for your news website. Domain registration is also free for the first year.

As far as free hosting goes, I would look at Brinkster. Their free service is good. For a pay service, I would look at either Brinkster, or 1and1.com. I've used both, (I think 1and1 is a bit better space %26amp; bandwith/cost). As far a web desing program, the cheapest is handcoding with notepad. If you want a little more advanced design application check out http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage2.shtml. I've never used it before, but a couple of friends have said it works ok.

Reply:I can suggest this program cause I myself use it. It's Namo WebEditor that is a WYSIWYG (the way you see is the way you get) editor, easy enough to use but complete. It comes along with WebCanvas, a specialized graphics tool for creating images to be used on the web.


Namo also offers hosting at very cheap rates.

Reply:If you currently are a web subscriber, your current provider offers a homepage into which you can FTP your current webpage(s) [which can be authored/designed using Composer [free with Netscape browsers], NotePad, MSN Word, FrontPage, DreamWeaver, etc.] and use the homepage hosting services. In a sense, you are hosting a commercial webpage via the homepage link and incurring merely the monthly access of, say, AOL.com, etc. Nevertheless, should you want to link your current domain name to the homepage URL, you'll need to use a third-party redirection service, i.e., mydomain.com [which is free] or simply direct your domain name registry, i.e., godaddy.com to forward your domain name [with masking] to the link it to your homepage URL. It's that simple.
